ParticipantAfter taking advice I went up to Manchester and got the car. Its now back in Dorset and looking good.
Now its just removing the airbags, fixing a niggly electrical fault, fitting the lights, sorting out the plates in the engine bay, getting the geometry sorted and a couple of other bits and pieces. It will then be ready for IVA. I wonder how long Ill have to wait for that.

ParticipantThought Id share a couple of pics from 2 years ago when my late wife and I went up to Martin’s place for a test drive.
Feel free to use in gallery if you think they are good enough.

ParticipantWell its just over 18 months since I first started disemboweling the Mazda and I havent written anything since I started, so heres how its going.
Its nearly finished!! Its currently up in Manchester getting painter at the place that did Roys mark 3. Why take it to Manchester you ask. Price. I got a few quotes down here and they varied from £5000 to £6700. Roys man is doing it for about £3ooo, hence the long drive. After that there are a few things to do to get it through the IVA such as removing the airbags, getting the lights in order (minus the foglights, which come on without the headlights, so cant be included). Im not yet happy with the front ride height, so more fiddling around with spacers might happen too. Other than that its ready to go.
What do you guys think about getting the engine remapped and getting a boost in HP? Im a bit concerned that the bigger wheels will reduce torque too much. Has anyone else got an opinion on this?
So with any luck I will be legally on the road by October at the latest.
